Photos and descriptions from last night’s pop up dinner at Fritz Pastry. My love for Fritz is legendary, and after this dinner, I wish Chef Nathaniel Meads would open up a regular restaurant as well. I can’t wait to see what he does with the vegan pop up dinner…
Here’s the menu:
SOUP - fennel
SALAD SANDWICH -brioche with goat cheese baked in the center, topped with arugula, apple, honey roasted walnut salad with simple vinagarette
ENTREE creamy polenta and veggie ragout -flaky dough surrounding ratatouille (eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, peppers, tomato, onion, garlic) with root vegetable (parsnips, turnips, rutabega, carrot)
AMUSE -lemon
FRUIT ONE – dreamsicle vacherin-orange sorbet, vanilla ice cream, vanilla meringue, whipped cream, candied orange zest, clementine segment
FRUIT TWO - tropical fruit tapioca -pineapple, pineapple sorbet?, coconut tapioca, banana, cilantro, macadamia nut praline crunch
CHOCOLAT ONE -black forest-chocolate cherry crepe souffle (souffle baked inside of a crepe), griotte ice cream
CHOCOLAT TWO - Chocolat cereal -chocolat semi freddo, chocolat covered chocolat cereal, chocolate creme anglais(custard)
MIGNARDISES -“once more time around the park, jeffrey” is each of the flavors of the four main dessert courses reconfigured. -dreamsicle meringue -coconut cake with macadamia nut topping -chocolat cherry macaron -chocolat truffle
